Stopping The Clock

Do you ever wish that you could just stop the clock?

I did.

Every day flew by and it felt like I would never catch up.

I never seemed to have enough time to do anything.

Then I stopped and asked myself why?

At first glance, the only reason I wanted to stop time was so I could catch up with all the things I started. It seemed to be a simple enough answer; just freeze time long enough so I could whittle down the list to something a bit more manageable.

"...minute by minute the time is locked...30 minutes per minute on the time freeze clock."

The days were flying by and I was barely living, just existing, and not even for myself.

But then I realized I didn't need to stop the clock. I just needed to stop. WOW! What a revelation! Well...not to some people (who shall remain nameless...ahemm...). Alright! So it took me a little longer to figure it out! But I got it. I finally got it!

It took awhile to make the adjustment because there were parts of me that weren't ready to stop living the life that I was living. But now that I have put some distance between what was and what is, I realize that I kind of like where I am right now. So...I am treating it like a vacation. I long vacation...a long paid vacation. While here, I have been making some very important decisions. Some of which I hope to share with you later.

In the meantime...

...I am living...for myself. I still have a lot to do, but the stuff will be there tomorrow...and the day after that, and the day after that.

  2. I'd like to stop the clock on the week-ends but let it go during the work week.

  3. This is great, Susan! I tend to get frustrated with all my unfinished projects and fret over time, but I think your approach is better! Great post. :)

  4. Excellent post, Susan. Glad you stopped, threw out that clock. Trying that in my life, but it is so difficult to let go of time!
