Sometimes you just have to quit and walk away from situations that you can't deal with anymore. I've been in one and it was painful. I wrote about previously so I don't need to go into all the details here. I don't like to think of myself as a quitter, but sometimes, you just got to do what you have to do. Otherwise, you end up as a shell of your former self.
I was headed down that road, and I didn't like where it was going. I must have the word "pushover" written on my head, because I feel like everyone knows that they can walk all over me and I won't do anything about it. Not anymore.
Because I quit...
...being your fall guy.
...being the one to clean up your messes.
...being the one who gets knock over just so that you can get to the top.
...being the one to do all the work and see you take the credit.
...living your dream, it's time for my own dreams to come true.
I'm proud to be a quitter, as now I can be a winner...in anything that I want.
Here's a video clip from a movie that I watch from time to time whenever I need some inspiration...it has a great "I Quit" moment. You can skip ahead to the six minute mark and view from there, or watch the whole thing.
Wishing you moments of realizing it's okay to quit.

I have often said that quitting is the only way to go. Nothing wrong with takin' a new route if the old one isn't takin' you where you wanna be.

My goodness... I surely don't blame you for quitting after all that. Peace of mind is more important, so I'm glad you have it now.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
You are right Susan--sometimes we need to quit situations and walk away and not look back. Although, "quitter" can have a negative connotation, it can be a positive thing to quit something (or someone) when it is in a person's best interests to do so. (((HUGS))) Jenn.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you just got to. I love that movie!!! Good for you for getting out of a bad situation! Life is way to short.
