Ocean

Ocean waters...so vast and deep,
I stand at your edge and quietly weep.

So tired I kneel and ask for peace,
whispers from the deep help my pain to cease.

Waves so gentle, calming and true,
it must be your colors of green and blue.

Mesmerized am I by your tranquility,
oh how you give me needed stability.

With each inhale I begin to feel,
your healing powers...almost surreal.

My mind's eye holds the key,
to the beauty and wonder beneath the sea.

I may not swim, yet I am still drawn to you,
and as I exhale, I feel my soul renew.

Wishing you moments of peace and tranquility,

  1. There is something about the ocean--that brings a peace to one's innerself. I'll be at the beach in 2 days!! YAYAYAYAYAY!!

  2. Lovely. I love standing on a deserted beach and watching the waves and surf come in.

  3. Beautiful and I totally agree with the effects the ocean has on me as well. I wrote a Haiku for "O," and we both made reference to "the wonder beneath." Cool!

  4. This is such a gorgeous poem and I could feel, smell, and imagine the ocean in all its glory as I read it.

  5. Exactly how I feel when I sit near any...any water. The ocean, the lake, the creek and even pool side. Water simply speaks to me in a calm and reassuring way. It is my peace.
Wonderfully written verse. Great rhythm and perfect message.
